"Anyway, how are things with you? This place is just as nice as you said."
no subject
Things with her? Nancy ducks her head a little. "Thank you- I love it. It's such a far cry from any place I ever lived." She sighs. Thank goodness her boyfriend invested early in Apple. "it's so strange, living with someone else again. I thought I'd be single until forever, after Bill." She shakes her head and takes a drink.
"But then I met Cooper."
no subject
There's probably a reason for that and Caroline can respect that. But she definitely has to pry just a little bit.
"Who's Bill?"
no subject
Which is why she hates herself for letting any mention of him slip. She knew what people had thought of her relationship with him. Same thing they thought about her and Cooper. It wasn't, though. Neither of them were.
So she was going to completely gloss over the dirty details with a casual, "He's my ex," and hope that was the end of it.

"What? It was like, two years ago." She waves it away, because nope, they are not talking about this.
no subject
She gets it though. Even though she laid out the whole tragic story of her and Stefan's aborted relationship, there are other things she'd rather not have to talk about. Klaus, for example. The less said about him, the better.

She raises her glass, wishing she'd poured something harder than wine.
no subject
She's beginning to consider switching from water to basically anything else.
no subject
She waves her hand at her cabinets again.

She takes the glass and has a long drink from it. "That's quite good. I except this place comes with a well-stocked wine cellar?"
no subject
"D'you want another glass of that or something else?" The glass of gin is now happily in her hand.
no subject
"This is fine for now, thanks."
no subject
She takes another drink and sighs. "Alright, we were together about three years, he was a werewolf. Happy?" Please don't do the math on that one. But, honestly, she felt that she owed her at least some explanation. Even if it was only a little one.
no subject
Werewolves however, that's something she can talk about. "Werewolves definitely do have their appeal," she says, thinking about when things were good with Tyler.
no subject
Damn it, now she missed him.
no subject
It was a problem that she'd luckily managed to avoid so far, despite the risks she'd taken. Idly, she wondered what Tyler was doing now. She hadn't heard from him since the funeral.
no subject
"Though there was no biting in that bedroom, I'll tell you that much."
no subject
She takes another another drink of wine, emptying the glass. She holds it up in Nancy's direction. "Little help?"
no subject
Nancy waves back at her wine bottle on the counter and it flies over and tops Caroline off. For her part, Nancy gives a small yawn. "lets just keep the bottle here, yeah?"

He had better.
"Okay," she says finally. "And yeah, keep the bottle here."
no subject
"Yeah..." She shifts and uses the opportunity to finish her drink and wave for another.
"Sorry. It's one of those things, I guess." Something Fagin had told her to do.
no subject
"Don't worry about it," she says, her voice more casual than she actually feels. "I am not judging."
Or at least, she was trying not.
