"Fagin won't let us. Says it's best not to worry Bill with how everythin's changing. It'll only get 'im stressed." It's not ... entirely untrue, the Dodger supposes. Depending on how you looked at the matter, that is.

"Makes sense..." He'd get more time added on to his sentence, likely.

"What else? tell me everything."

It's odd. When he couldn't talk to Nancy, the Dodger had an endless list of things he wanted to say to her. Now that she's asking him to tell her everything, it's like his mind has gone completely blank.

"... Lost weight?"

She blinks.

"He did?" Well, skinny and muscular Bill? she was going to be all over that.

"A bit," he responds with a shrug. Not much, really, but enough that you noticed it. Or maybe you only noticed because it wasn't like Sikes was around everyday now. Even a small bit of weight loss was gonna be noticeable.

"Is he eating? I'll make you something to take him, next. Something with bacon, the poor man." She wanted to see him, to curl up with him when he was a wolf and bury herself in his fur. She wanted to hold him and kiss him again. No one understood how much it hurt to be without him. The Bill shaped hole in her soul that would only be filled by him.

"He's eatin', they just don't get big portions." That's pretty much it. That and Sikes seems to be pacing a lot...

"Of course not. First thing when he's home, I'll do- make him a big meal, all his favorites. Desert, too. Give him a whole bottle of gin right in the door." She closes her eyes and sighs.

"I shouldn't be talking like this." Nancy purses her lips, turning away from Jack.

"None of us should," he says. They do though, down the den. All talk about the day Sikes get out an' how great it'll be, an' how those Night Council idiots won't know what hit 'em.

He's not sure how much of it is just people mouthing the words though.

Don't say a damn thing about the Night Council, the last thing she wants is another reason for Bill and Cooper to be at each other's throats when he gets out. She knows she's going to have to work over-time to stop that from happening, when everything happens.

It will happen. The question just is when.

"No- talking about it here." she gestures around the kitchen and takes another drink.

That causes a frown.

"Your place, ain't it?"

"It's Cooper's place." Same as Bill's place had been Bill's place. She had no ownership of either space, and she knew it.

"An' what?" His frown didn't let up, in fact he looked more confused. "He's got cameras an' mics set up so you can't talk about what he don't like even when he's not here?"

[stauncherhearted]

"No." She's quick to put that away.

"It's disrespectful, and Cooper an' I don't lie to each other." Part of the problem of all of this was that Cooper had determined Nancy never mentioning Bill had been a very large lie.

"Besides, I'm sure he'll know." Cooper, after all, could read emotions.

"How is it disrespectful to talk about someone you know? Pretendin' they don't exist is disrespectful." He'd understand if she meant talking about her relationship to Bill, but just asking how the bloke is doing is hardly anything to get worried about.

Nancy presses her lips together and frowns.

"It don't feel right- talking in Cooper's kitchen about Bill. Not the way things've been since you bloody went and fucked it all up." It had been a bit too long since she'd made a bitter remark and followed it up by a drink of gin. She was gonna do that. Riiiiiight... now!

Besides. She had to remind Dodger she hadn't forgiven him. And she certainly had not forgotten.

He glances down.

"It took the wind out of Fagin's plan. He weren't happy." Oh he paid.

"Good, that makes three of us, then."

There's a brief flash of a scowl on the Dodger's face because while he understands that Nancy is still angry, he doesn't understand why she seems to be under the belief that he enjoyed telling that sordid history.

Telling stories was one thing, but you have to be at least a level 9 to unlock anyone's history

Exactly. Cooper hadn't hit level 9 yet, and Dodger let him skip a few levels. Rude.

"You threw a fucking mug at my head."

Does he need to yell about Fagin's plan again?

"Not at you. Just... threw it. Was angry."

[stauncherhearted]

"Your aim must either be really poor or really good, then." She purses her lips at him, glaring.

Still, she had to say, talking to Dodger again was very nice.

"It's kind of shit," he admits with a shrug. "Not really been good at that type of thing. S'Jem who gets that stuff, not me."

Nancy takes a sip of gin at the mention of Jem.

"Fuck Jem." Jem was her age, and had angled for her hard after Bill had gone. Nancy was no longer on speaking terms with the other boy, subsequently.

"Yeah, he ain't improvin' with age."
