Nancy presses her lips together and frowns.

"It don't feel right- talking in Cooper's kitchen about Bill. Not the way things've been since you bloody went and fucked it all up." It had been a bit too long since she'd made a bitter remark and followed it up by a drink of gin. She was gonna do that. Riiiiiight... now!

Besides. She had to remind Dodger she hadn't forgiven him. And she certainly had not forgotten.

He glances down.

"It took the wind out of Fagin's plan. He weren't happy." Oh he paid.

"Good, that makes three of us, then."

There's a brief flash of a scowl on the Dodger's face because while he understands that Nancy is still angry, he doesn't understand why she seems to be under the belief that he enjoyed telling that sordid history.

Telling stories was one thing, but you have to be at least a level 9 to unlock anyone's history

Exactly. Cooper hadn't hit level 9 yet, and Dodger let him skip a few levels. Rude.

"You threw a fucking mug at my head."

Does he need to yell about Fagin's plan again?

"Not at you. Just... threw it. Was angry."

"Your aim must either be really poor or really good, then." She purses her lips at him, glaring.

Still, she had to say, talking to Dodger again was very nice.

"It's kind of shit," he admits with a shrug. "Not really been good at that type of thing. S'Jem who gets that stuff, not me."

Nancy takes a sip of gin at the mention of Jem.

"Fuck Jem." Jem was her age, and had angled for her hard after Bill had gone. Nancy was no longer on speaking terms with the other boy, subsequently.

"Yeah, he ain't improvin' with age."

[stauncherhearted]

Nancy stifles a snort.

"He'll be gone once he's served his purpose."

"He's Fagin's muscle," the Dodger said with a shrug of his shoulders. Oh, he knew it was only until Sikes came out - even if he was older, Sikes was still more vicious than Jem White could ever hope to be.

Nancy nodded. She remembered that change-over, even if she'd been drunk off her ass for most of it.

"Still trying to be Bill."

"Fagin tries to make us Bill." Us. Because he's even tried with Dodger, even though it has no way of working.

[stauncherhearted]

She frowns. "No one's like Bill."

Thank goodness for that.

"Ain't stopping Fagin trying to make one of us into a new him."

[stauncherhearted]

"Wish it would." She takes another drink before offering the bottle to Dodger. He need it.

He shook his head at the offered bottle.

"He reckons that he's making nice with Sikes. Sending someone down to chat at him."

[stauncherhearted]

"Considering it's Fagin's bloody fault he's there in the first place?"

The Dodger just gave a look in return, asking what she really expected from Fagin. Of course he was going to do his best to make nice with Sikes, it's what he did

"Knock it off," she says, reaching out and knocking his hat off.

[knowntohisfriends]

He grabs at his hat.

"S'true, Nance, course he thinks he can walk back in."

[stauncherhearted]

"Fagin wants him back, but he don't trust him none. I know my Bill, ain't ever going to forget being locked up and what the man who did it."

That confused the Dodger a little. Wasn't it Sikes' own fault he was locked up? He went and bit the wrong person all because he had no control on his temper. His love for Fagin maybe getting smaller by the day, but he wasn't quite at the blame him for everything Sikes ever did. Man was a grown adult, responsible for his own actions.
