Party's Party post for the Party! [OPEN]

In the last week, Party's does his job to set up a truly momentous party thrown by an anonymous organizer. To some he's admitted that he knows the organizer, to others he's only said that he'd heard of the party second or third hand, but those that know him best could probably tell whose handiwork is behind this. The fliers are artless and plain and they're everywhere in the days leading up to it, or at least everywhere Party can reasonably get them without getting police attention that would shut it down before it even starts.

It starts small and slow, a few high kids playing music on their cell phones and dancing, but it grows from there, a few DJs with small and portable setups and broken bottles in the street. Central to the whole affair is the Magical Innovation Centre, but it spreads out from there, disturbing the nearby neighborhood and hiding seedy activities with only minimal effort. At some point, there's even a series of wolf howls that seem to echo through the streets.

It's only a few hours from its small beginnings before it's broken up by the cops, but with no ringleader known, only interspersed random arrests are made. There just aren't enough police to get everyone.

Wednesday stares unblinkingly back at him.

"Yes," is her only comment on the matter.

He doesn't even seem to notice how unnerving that should be. He's grinning enough for the both of them anyway, so her face is fine. It can be as weirdly blank as it wants. "Are you good? You need anything?" Now it's his turn to be helpful, apparently.

He seems to be quite taken with the alcohol on offer. That sounds appealing. Though in a way it was a shame he wasn't still guarded and sullen. It was so rare to meet such a nicely sullen person these days.

"Where can I find hard liquor?"

"Everywhere?" For some reason, he finds this funny. He does some stupid little half-snicker then he holds an arm out, making a brief grabbing motion with his hand in an attempt to convince her to take it. Leading her there won't do any good if they end up separated. "C'mon, I'll show you where the decent stuff's at."

"That would be acceptable," Wednesday said, gesturing for him to lead on.

Ah, she's a risk-taker. Nothing wrong with that. He shrugs and waves her along. "This way." Then he's turning and blazing a trail through the crowd, although any space he makes is quickly swallowed right back up. He only stops when he reaches a haphazardly thrown-together bar setup. There's not really a dedicated bartender or anything, of course, but people like to know where to find their favorite poisons so the basics don't stray too far from the counter.

If she makes it over, great! If she doesn't, then, well, that's fine too. He needed to come over here for a drink, anyway, because he hasn't currently got one. Why hasn't he got one? That's clearly bullshit.

She does follow behind, and while her expression doesn't change, she is amused by how it all is put together. She reaches the counter and glances through the drinks available. She grabs something and looks at Ghoul.

"You have a good selection."

[ghoulaid]

"Nice of me to share, ain't it?" Nothing that comes out of his mouth can be trusted- none of this is even technically his. Still, he smiles (just barely) in an impish sort of way while he makes something for himself. "No strings attached, even." How very un-fae-like of him.

"Clearly you're not a Fae." Because her thoughts had been along the same lines.

[ghoulaid]

"Shit, no. I mean, I like 'em- but yeah, no." Courts and weird wish-granting magic powers are for sure things that should never be thrown in to the mix where Ghoul is concerned. A sudden thought occurs to him, though, and he looks at her strangely. "Wait, are you one?"

"No." It's a blunt answer. "There have been changelings in the family, but none since Cousin Despair," she added after a moment of thought. "I followed Mother and Grand-mama and joined the craft." An explanation, of sorts. "Though I don't share their deity."

[ghoulaid]

There's a lot to digest in that answer. Cousin Despair sounds metal as fuck, but the deity thing is what really throws him for a loop. "There's deities in it...?" Obviously he's not a witch, either... but it sounds like she is. She's got a weird way of saying it, though, and his head is just fuzzy enough to forget that he's not associating with witches right now.

"For some," she says. "Many of our kind look to a patron, though the Mother here forgets that respect is due to others." There's a darkness in how she says that. Wednesday may not have been present, but she listens. The darkness speaks, and more specifically, the Addams ancestors who's spirits reside in London.

"You ain't kiddin'." Ghoul sighs loudly in to his cup after he lifts it for drink. Any topic that involves Samantha is one that requires alcohol, and luckily, he has some right here.

When he pulls it away again he grimaces, though it's not caused by the taste. "Well, anyway. If you're one'a hers, she won't like you bein' here. Helpin' us trash her nice building will put you on her shitlist for sure."

"Oh dear." There's a complete lack of caring in Wednesday's voice. "Perhaps she should worry about being on mine." There's a moment where - just for a quick flash - there's a deadly smile on Wednesday's face, one that promises terror. But it must have just been the light. Her expression hasn't changed.

Ghoul tilts his head to the side, squinting at her a little like he's trying to figure her out... Or perhaps he's trying to decide whether he actually saw her smile like Disaster Girl. Maybe it was just his imagination. "You got a long shitlist or somethin'?"

"Infinitely," she says. "From now until the here-after." It's a promise.

[ghoulaid]

Yikes. He shakes his head, cracking a faint smirk even though he tries to sound sympathetic when he says, "You make a lotta work for yourself, don't you?"

"Of course not," Wednesday says. "I never mix work and pleasure."

[ghoulaid]

Did you know liquid isn't as enjoyable when it's inhaled rather than swallowed?

He makes the mistake of taking another mouthful of his drink a split-second before Wednesday speaks, which only leads to him sucking it down his throat incorrectly as he accidentally snickers and swallows at the same time. It's a very upsetting experience; he ends up sort of doubled over for a minute- choking, spluttering, and trying to laugh all at once.

She might kill him one day.

"Are you choking?" She's curious, more than anything. "Is it pleasant?"

[ghoulaid]

When he rights himself again, it's with a screwed-up face and struggled wheeze. "It hurts," is all he says, his voice strained.

He clears his throat a bit after that, one hand pressed to his chest while the other sets his cup down. He's done with that now...

"Hurts is not really clear enough," she mutters, looking among the drinks and pouring a small cup of water. "Take this. Small sips."

[ghoulaid]

Geez, what is she doing, a scientific study? "Y'ain't ever choked b'fore?"

Weird as she is, she seems to know what's up, so he looks appropriately grateful as he takes the water and does as instructed. Delicate little baby sips. See, listens sometimes.

"Not personally, though making others choke was a past-time for a while."

Listen, to even begin to question her life. She made a scientific study of pain, it was very enlightening, but the university she came from didn't much like it. Something about a total violation of the ethical code of the department and potentially illegal. People can be so small-minded.

Though she's glad to see him listen, that is useful.
