Dogs were great. Laura had always thought so, even before she was bitten. She'd thought they were sweet and good and too precious for this world. She'd seen many a good dog meme in her time, and she loved them. But that didn't explain why she was alone at a dog park, watching them run and jump and play.

She was here because it was a whole lot easier to go to a dog park than a wolf sanctuary in frakking London, and she wanted to do some research. The more she knew about dogs and how they acted, perhaps the more she could stay in control during her monthly transformations. So here she was. Watching dogs.

There's a handsome man a few feet away, taking good care of who she's sure is the best dog in the world in the man's eyes. "What a sweet boy you have," she says. "What's his name?"
