Finding a safe spot away from vampires, wolves, and witches is nearly impossible, Ghoul discovers. He ends up picking some park inside Redbright territory and praying that fucking Mogget's eyes aren't coincidentally anywhere nearby.

The longer he lingers, the more anxious he gets. Which is a real shame, because it's a lovely day. Instead of soaking it in, he's perched on a long bench underneath a shade tree- twisted around in the seat, squinting as he scans the area behind him. There aren't many people around, but he's not looking for a regular person anyhow. He's on the watch for a little white cat... and for Evie too, sure.

But mostly that asshole cat.

Been around a while. Evie's got to consider this- there are so many different meanings.

"Depends on what you mean. I'm nearly 170 years old. I've always considered London my home, but often times my business calls me away for prolonged periods of time. But I've been settled back here for nearly a year now." She lets that sink in. She knows it's weird, she's in her 20s, physically.

But hey, at least she's not Joss, or Cooper.

"Why do you ask?"

170 seems like a good number. He's all upbeat when he notes, "Shit, that's old," because if she's been around for that long then she's bound to have a lot of useful information.

He doesn't realize that it doesn't quite come across as a compliment until a few seconds later. "Wait, you're not old. Well, you are, but that ain't what I mean." He doesn't even know what he means, evidently. Maybe if he stops and tries again.

"What I'm sayin' is that you, uh, probably know a lot of stuff." There, that's better. "So, like, d'you know of anything that can block a witch from messin' with somebody? Like protection against spells and bindings and whatever?"

Evie lets out a small huff of air through her nose, a sort of laugh. "Not for vampires. My girlfriend's even younger." Gosh, she really likes saying she has a girlfriend. Even mentioning her has Evie smiling. She's smitten, and it's pretty awful. She hates how see-through she is.

"I do know a lot of stuff. But unfortunately, that isn't one of them." She frowns deeply. It's another reason that Samantha's plan is so awful.

Ghoul is momentarily distracted by his slight disappointment. Damn. He'll probably have to talk to a witch after all, but that's kind of risky since- wait. "Your what?" Did she say her girlfriend? He's pretty sure she did, and he's also pretty sure he remembers her lighting up when she said it.

And a younger vampire-girlfriend at that. Well, damn. Go Evie. "Y'know you're only supposed to go as young as half your age plus seven, right?" Okay, listen, he's like, legally required to make at least one joke about vampire romance.

"My... girlfriend...?" She repeats, a little confused as to why of all things that's what he's chosen to hang on to.

Oh, right. Maybe two attractive ladies together was just the sort of thing that got young men excited. Oh well.

"I think they suspended that rule when it comes to vampires," she says with a small smile. "Otherwise, I'm screwed."
