Botching it in Bromley (Territory Claim)

They've done their research. They know where the fae in Bromley are hiding out, their movements, their numbers. As far as intelligence gathering goes, it's not a bad effort. They have a plan too. This at least is an improvement over some past witches that Mogget could mention, though in his opinion the plan is rather crude. Samantha could get a lot more resistance than she bargained for.

Which, it turns out, is exactly the case. Of course, Mogget is the one on the ground with the other witches, trying to control a situation that swiftly spirals out of control. Samantha is nowhere to be seen; she gets others to do her dirty work.

He's not looking forward to telling her what went wrong.

Party rolls his eyes. Does Mogget want Party to see him as some kind of victim? Because Party sees him more as an enforcer and a shill and it's going to take more than this to convince him otherwise.

"There's plenty of things I don't have to experience to know I don't wanna let it happen to other people." His mouth twists a little. "You got any will of your own?"

[bellbound]

"Plenty," the cat replies, "although I do have a sad inability to exercise it. What about you?"

Mogget might be here because he's under orders, but that's hardly different to the werewolf now, is it?

"Well I ain't chasin' you up a tree, am I?" Though he'd really like to and only partially because of the whole dogs-chase-cats thing. Mogget represents something that Party's most certainly uncomfortable with.

"Bein' in a pack ain't about takin' orders blindly."

[bellbound]

"But it is about taking orders."

And yes, he's enjoying needling Party like this, his green eyes gleaming as he looks up at the werewolf. There are some truths people don't like to face. Party clearly doesn't want to be here and yet here he is. So why is that?

Party's face twists in anger. "You don't get it, 'cause you're a fuckin' cat. Pack ain't about orders. It's about pack. You don't get it, 'cause you're all every witch for themselves."

Oh, he wants to punt Mogget into a trashcan right now. It's an insult to everything he is and everything he's chosen to be. He doesn't follow his orders out of fear or necessity. He follows them because he believes in his pack and Mogget isn't going to convince him otherwise.

"All you care about is your petty beef with the Fae."

[bellbound]

He isn't a cat but Party is clearly too overwrought to think about that right now. Pack, pack, pack. Werewolves never talk about anything else. He backs up just in case Party does decide to kick him (it seems a distinct possibility), but that doesn't mean he's backing down.

"It doesn't matter what either of us care about," he hisses. "What matters is that we're here and if you can't do as you're told, then you need to leave. Are you going to stand here and waste time whining about the situation, or are you going to do something?"

Either he goads Party into leaving which means they lose a potential liability, or maybe the werewolf will realise he has to stay and finally shut up. That's the aim.

"You see me not doin' as I'm told, asshole? Been fightin' all night. What're you doin'? Crawlin' 'round watchin' us?" He rolls his eyes. What orders he chooses to follow have very little to do with the witches or Mogget. There's not a whole lot of respect there, because he's pretty sure they're just trying to use his pack to do their dirty work.

Of course they are using the pack to do their dirty work. It's happened before and it will happen again. Mogget doesn't care.

"I'm doing as I'm told," the cat replies. "Shall I leave you to do the same?"

He only picked up on Party's behaviour in the first place because of that outburst of not signing up for this. Lack of commitment or even open hostility like that is not going to help them win this fight.

"Yeah, sure. Do whatever mommy said." He rolls his eyes. "Ain't got time for your shit, anyway."

[bellbound]

"In other words, yes."

Bluster. Maybe empty, maybe not. He'll keep an eye on this one, but the cat does retreat, moving away to the nearest witch.
