[closed for faolan]

It takes Arthur a couple days to sort out his own thoughts and track down Faolan to talk about his meeting with Evie. Something's sticking for him about the deal she brought forward, and he definitely needs to sit down with Faolan to at least talk over those things before they even consider going back to agree on something final. Maybe Faolan won't like it at all, or maybe he'll be all for it. Arthur just finds it so frustratingly simple that he's thought himself in circles and needs to get it ironed out with another party.

Well, that, and it's Faolan's decision in the end. He has no disillusions about that; even if Arthur doesn't like part of it, Faolan can give the go ahead. He seems the kind of suspicious man that Arthur can trust to overthink things with him, but maybe he'll see something that Arthur doesn't.

So by the time Arthur winds up at Faolan's office knocking on the doorframe, he has that deepset frown of concentration on his face that usually indicates he's been thinking on something far too long. He doesn't bother with pleasantries.

"You have a minute?"

It isn't the first time that Arthur has come to him with such an expression on his face, but then again, he never seems to come to him with a smile either for that matter. As Faolan glances up from the paperwork on the desk before him, latest reports from the most recent hunts, he takes note of the other man's expression before gesturing him in.

"Sure," he replies, shifting things on the desk before him and closing a few folders to set them aside. "Come in then." He runs a hand through his hair, and judging by the state of it it's obviously not the first time he's done so. "Am I going to need a drink for this?" He feels like he has to ask. That seems to be a common theme for the state of things lately, after all.

Faolan nods slightly. "I have heard of her," he confirms. They have not met face-to-face but he has certainly heard tell of her name in passing in association with the Islington nest.

He tilts his head at the other man warily. Vampires are never a good sign, especially not these days, and truth be told, the name is the only thing that he's heard mention of. "What about her?" he asks.
reticence: (modern so...)

Faolan shrugs slightly in response to the suggestion that she might have been there to see him instead. Arthur is his second-in-command, that's what he's in that position to do -- to field these sorts of things in his absence. Though he's curious about a vampire coming to Hillingdon for negotiations.

"Wanted to make a deal," Faolan repeats. Making a deal with Islington as far as Faolan is concerned is all sorts of terrible, but he'll hear Arthur out. He's not going to pass judgment on the other man's response before he's even heard what it is yet. "With Hillingdon." He sits back in his chair slightly, rubbing at his face before gesturing for the other man to go on.
