She forces a tight smile. "Thank you. I appreciate it. It's just- not something I talk about." Not something she really could talk about. She loved Bill. Loves him. Every day and she always will. But she has Cooper, and he's here now, and that same space in her heart was occupied by him.

She raises her glass, wishing she'd poured something harder than wine.

Caroline laughs, though its a slightly bitter laugh. "We're quite the pair, huh?"

She's beginning to consider switching from water to basically anything else.

Nancy has to nod. "You can say that again. D'you want the rest of this wine?" She offers her the glass. "I'm switching to gin."

She waves her hand at her cabinets again.

Caroline thinks about it for a moment. "Yeah, what the hell. Clear thinking is totally overrated."

She takes the glass and has a long drink from it. "That's quite good. I except this place comes with a well-stocked wine cellar?"

"Cooper's Irish," she says, by way of explanation. So yes, there is plenty of wine in the wine cellar (it's a wine room, technically, whatever they were called). And other delicious liquors.

"D'you want another glass of that or something else?" The glass of gin is now happily in her hand.

"You have to love the Irish." Caroline wonders if they go all out for St Patrick's Day - this would be a great place for a house party.

"This is fine for now, thanks."

"Alright, you just let me know, yeah?" She takes a hearty drink from her glass. Congrats, Caroline; you get to see just how much she drinks.

She takes another drink and sighs. "Alright, we were together about three years, he was a werewolf. Happy?" Please don't do the math on that one. But, honestly, she felt that she owed her at least some explanation. Even if it was only a little one.

Caroline really isn't in a position to judge anyone for their drinking, which is one of the reason she's taking it a bit easy tonight.

Werewolves however, that's something she can talk about. "Werewolves definitely do have their appeal," she says, thinking about when things were good with Tyler.

She laughs. "They do." And god damn, if Bill wasn't the cutest thing in the world on the New Moon. Inside with her, when he was at his weakest. "Big, strong..." Punched through the dry-wall on more than one occasion.

Damn it, now she missed him.

"And hey, at least their bite won't kill you."

It was a problem that she'd luckily managed to avoid so far, despite the risks she'd taken. Idly, she wondered what Tyler was doing now. She hadn't heard from him since the funeral.

She shakes her head. "No, but yours could," she points out, in an extremely good natured way. She isn't mad about it. She just knows how it is.

"Though there was no biting in that bedroom, I'll tell you that much."

"Last I checked, you weren't sleeping with me," Caroline replies, grinning. Though Nancy is in bed with a different vampire, so her point still stands. "No biting definitely sounds like a good policy to have." Though if both participants are vampires, she's discovered that blood sharing is not a bad thing to throw in the mix.

She takes another another drink of wine, emptying the glass. She holds it up in Nancy's direction. "Little help?"

Nancy nods, "the only way anyone bites me is if they pay for it. Or if they're Cooper." He could drink from her all he wanted, she didn't mind. She was a hot meal for him, no pun intended, and was always happy to let him drink his fill.

Nancy waves back at her wine bottle on the counter and it flies over and tops Caroline off. For her part, Nancy gives a small yawn. "lets just keep the bottle here, yeah?"

"Wait, what?" Caroline is very sure that Nancy letting anyone feed on her had never come up before.

Nancy blinks. Oh right. they hadn't discussed that part of her job. "Yeah- that's part of my job."

Huh. Well, actually Caroline supposes that makes a bit of sense. She knew that there were vampires in the Nest who feed off willing humans. It's just not something she trusts herself to do right now. Especially not someone she has feelings for, though Cooper is a lot older than her and probably has even better control.

He had better.

"Okay," she says finally. "And yeah, keep the bottle here."

Sex and feeding always went so close together.

"Yeah..." She shifts and uses the opportunity to finish her drink and wave for another.

"Sorry. It's one of those things, I guess." Something Fagin had told her to do.

Caroline has to wonder how many more of 'those things' there are for her to find out.

"Don't worry about it," she says, her voice more casual than she actually feels. "I am not judging."

Or at least, she was trying not.

Nancy sighs. "Thanks- I appreciate it. It's nice to know that, after feeling like the entire city is judging me, thanks to that stupid letter."

Caroline nods. "Yeah ... I thought that might be about you. But that letter was basically the newspaper equivalent of an Internet troll. I know it's hard, but you shouldn't let it bother you too much."

Nancy forces a smile.

"Yeah- Pretty much everyone I knew thought that was me." Caroline meant well, but it was different when it was you that was written about. "I'll try." It was just a reminder of who she was, despite whom she surrounded herself with.

Nancy's smile isn't super convincing but Caroline feels like she's pressed on more than enough subjects for one night. "So, I think we were talking about hot sex, of the non-biting variety?"

Oh thank god, she could have kissed her.

"Yes- oh gosh, yes. Hot sex. You'd think I'd be getting more of it." She winks, making a joke. A lot of the sex was sub-par. But that's just what happened, she supposed.

"Thank god for Cooper."

Honestly, Caroline wouldn't have expected that much from Cooper, at least not from looking at him. Of course, vampire strength would make up for his general scrawniness. Plus, he should have had time to practice. Regardless, she's happy for Nancy.

And once again, she realizes she's one of the few people not out there having scandalous sex. Though after hooking up with a vampire hunter - or at least anti-vampire soldier - she'd gotten close.

"I clearly must live vicariously through you in this matter."

Most people wouldn't. But he's got the libido of a seventeen-year-old, and she's happy to sleep with him always.

She shakes her head. "It's not even that... I don't know." She gestures vaguely. "Quality over quantity, is all I think I'll say." Not with Cooper, but with men in general. With Cooper, it was always great.
