From all that Liadan has heard, there has been plenty of upheaval within London's supernatural community. It's almost enough for her to wonder if this was the best place for her and Johnny to come, but what is done is done. Besides, Bran will be able to see them easier here than even back in Sevenwaters.

At least she already knows where Hillingdon House is, after Faolan showed it to her before. She headed up to the doorstep, Johnny beside her. "This is where Daddy's friends work," she told him. "Hopefully one of them will be able to help us decide where we should live." She had booked their hotel room for a week, hoping that would be enough time to find a suitable apartment.

She knocked on the door firmly three times, then waited. Hopefully, someone was here today.

"Ah, I see. That is a lovely part of town, I was just out there a month or so ago, sightseeing." It had been a good, neutral place to meet with Faolan. Besides, Kensington Palace was somewhere she'd always wanted to see.

"It really is," she agrees. Beautiful, but not something she ever really liked to advertise. Her grandmother was incredibly wealthy, and Annie was lucky to have been able to move in with her. But Annie was nothing if not humble.

"The neighborhood around here is nice. Uhm- there are bedrooms- if you need a place to stay in the meanwhile... Here, I mean."

Liadan had wondered if there were rooms in the house. However, she suspects they may be others who need them more. "Thank you, that is good to know. Right now, the two of us are staying at a hotel, so we should find for the time being. But it would be nice to have a place to call home."

Even if she suspected it would be some time before it felt like home.

She nods. "Good, I'd hate for the two of you to not have a place to go." She takes what she hopes is an encouraging sip of tea.

"What, ah, brings you two to London?"

"Well," Liadan says, thinking about how much she wants to get into, "we had some trouble with a local fae back home. Explaining why is long story but in the end, it seemed safer to get out of her way. Bran suggested London, since he comes here regularly enough that we'd still be able to see each other, maybe even more than when I was back in Sevenwaters."

Annie's brow furrows, and she looks at Liadan with new eyes. "I'm really, ah, sorry to hear that. I kinda- I kinda understand." There had been too many ghosts back at home, it wasn't healthy for her. London had offered something of a new start.

"I hope he visits a lot."

Again, Liadan wonders about Annie's story. She hopes that one day, Annie will trust her enough to tell her. "He will, though it is hard to know when he'll be able to. His job schedule is very changeable."

Liadan sighs. She had known this would be the case when they got married but sometimes it was still hard for her. But if she wanted a conventional marriage, she should have married a conventional man. And then she thinks of Eamon and shudders slightly. "I am also hoping that my brother and his family will come visit often, since it was hard to leave them all behind. Sean and I are twins, so we've always been together."

"Well I'd like to meet him, maybe? When he comes in. Any friend of Faolan's a friend of Hillingdon." She supposed the same thing then went for Liadan's family.

"My gran comes in, occasionally." The only family she had left.

Liadan smiles. "I'm sure this will be one of the first places he visits next time he's in town." Her brother might be interested too, though this sort of thing was not Aisling's cup of tea. But if Muirrin was with them, likely her sister-in-law would happily watch her daughter and Johnny, while Sean learned more about the other part of Liadan's new life.

"I would love to meet her someday. Has she lived in London long?"

"Oh- yes. She's from here, originally. Family home." She tries to shrug it off like it's nothing, really.

Annie's phone goes off, and she looks down at it, frowning intently. "Sorry- she's- I promised we'd go to Sainsbury's. I should go- but Faolan'll be back soon. And if he isn't, here-" Annie stands and moves to the desk in the corner. There, she takes a piece of paper and a pen, and hastily scrawls her number in a small, feminine hand. "-call and I can come back."

Liadan nods and takes the piece of paper. "Thank you. It was really lovely to meet you, Annie. I hope we cross paths again soon."

"I do, too. Take care, Liadan." She pauses at the door. "You too, Johnny."

with that, she takes her leave.
