The Other Mayor of London

The OTHER MAYOR OF LONDON invites you to a night to remember...

Hosted at The Angelo in the heart of Islington (courtesy of Cesare Borgia), Raymond Harris invites you all to join him on the night of Saturday, 6th August to celebrate his self-proclaimed ascension as the Other Mayor of London. His aims are threefold: to stake his claim as the most powerful supernatural being in the city, to persuade other interested factions to ally with him, and to intimidate his enemies with a show of extravagance. All members of the Islington Nest are expected to work hard tonight to achieve these goals.

The party officially begins at 20:39 when the sun sets and ends at 05:34 when the sun rises. Of course, there's no guarantee that everyone will make it until dawn...

Rules of entry
• This is a black tie event. Anyone who fails to wear the appropriate attire will be denied entry.
• No stakes or other vampire-killing weapons. That's just rude.
• No more than five werewolves and shapeshifters will be admitted in total. Raymond wants them to witness his power, but not to spoil his party. They will be closely watched and likely mocked by the surrounding vampires.

Raymond is guarded by his vampire henchmen at all times. Any perceived threat will be dealt with swiftly and mercilessly.

Places to go
Once you're admitted to the hotel, you'll walk into the lobby, where you're free to mingle with the other guests. It's here that you're likely to first spot the party's human contingent: a collection of young and beautiful men and women whose sole purpose is to provide a live food source for the vampires. Dressed in uniform black suits and cocktail dresses, they will offer up their wrists and/or necks to anyone who wants them.

From there, you can head over to the bar for a more relaxed and cordial atmosphere. Drinks are free until midnight; after that you'll have to pay. The bar does not serve blood; it's expected that vampire guests will drink directly from their nearest human.

If you're looking for something a little more substantial, try the tea room where you'll be served tea, coffee or red wine, and a selection of cherry tomato canapes, strawberries and scones with jam and clotted cream.

The main action, however, takes place in the ballroom. Red mood lighting continues the general theme and live music will be playing all night. Professional dancers provide entertainment in the early evening, but it won't be long before the ballroom is crowded with party-goers revelling in the fun, free and wild atmosphere. This is where you may find Raymond, the benevolent host watching over his guests. Drink and be merry. He wants everyone to have a good time.

(You can check the OOC plotting thread for more info and to ask any questions about this event. Enjoy!)

"Alright, don't tell me then," Arthur says with a shrug, even though it really is bothering him. Maybe Eames just thinks it's a good look on him or something, but Arthur's curiousity isn't satisfied by that. He has to act like it is because he doesn't want Eames thinking he's actually interested in much of what he does, but it's still going to bug him.

"What's the problem?" He knows the problem, and even if Eames wasn't pathologically opposed to telling Arthur about his curse, he'd probably keep it to himself just for the entertainment value.

(It's slim pickings at these things.)

He smirks lightly over the rim of his glass, "you don't like older guys?"

He nearly rolls his eyes, and that's the only physical reaction Eames gets out him for that. "That's not what I said," he says, trying his best to stay more neutral than annoyed.

He refuses to take a second look to decide if he does like the flecks of grey in Eames' hair, but if he did he'd probably think it looks great.

"Well," Eames drawls, "I'll be here all night if you decide you want to confirm or deny."

Arthur gives him a look, which is a mistake, because damn he does look good. It's not that he likes older men, or older anyone, but he certainly wouldn't turn Eames down tonight if he happened to propose something.

But that's probably not going to happen anyway. So Arthur's not going to bother thinking about it.

Arthur, he's literally proposing something right now. Maybe he needs to be a little more explicit. That's fine, he can do that.

Eames smirks again when Arthur looks at him, because he knows he looks good right now. (Boy is he not looking forward to a week from now, but that can be dealt with some other time.) He's very casual when he speaks, tone and expression like it's just idle chatter about the weather instead of openly coming on to someone.

"Maybe we should compare notes when we've finished up here," which is, to be fair, a genuine offer. Even if it seems less so when he adds; "get a couple of beers in. I could fuck you how you like too."

It takes a significant amount of effort for Arthur not to snap at him to shut up right away. He knows Eames wants to get a rise out of him, and he's determined not to give him what he wants, so he sets his jaw stubbornly.

"Why don't we just try and make it out of this party without getting eaten first," he says, and it comes out much sharper than he means it to. Dammit.

Wow. For someone he's already sleeping with, Arthur is difficult to get into bed. Eames shrugs a shoulder and glances around the room, he's not worried about the vampires.

"Shouldn't be a problem. Not unless you're a werewolf and hiding it extremely well."

"They don't even like to eat werewolves, just kill them," Arthur says dismissively. He frowns out at the guests, who are inevitably mostly vampires, and takes a moment to wonder why he's so annoyed at Eames propositioning him. He decides it's mostly the embarrassment of someone overhearing that he likes to get fucked a certain way and so he is totally justified in being angry over that.

Still it would be nice to get laid tonight. "You do look good," he finally admits, like he's casually changing the subject.

He snort at Arthur's comment on the werewolves and nods his head. Not that Eames has any particular love for their lot, but the vampires are a bunch of savages evidently just waiting to cut loose.

Enough thought about that whole mess though, because he's just had a compliment. Eames gives Arthur a mildly surprised look, not 100% sure he should just accept it.

"How much did that hurt you to say?" He settles on instead.

"Only a little," Arthur says. "It's the truth, though."

Arthur gives him a look out of the corner of his eye, like he's checking him out again. He doesn't want to push it too much, since he wants to spend some more time here and he's not interested in hooking up in some broom closet somewhere. He's a grown adult for heaven's sake. Still, this'll pay off later, so he doesn't mind slipping a few compliments Eames' way.

Eames laughs softly at that, and he bites down on another few choice comments he has knocking around in his head since he's got some stuff he'd like to do before he leaves. He should probably deal with Raymond eventually at the very least.

"Text me when you're done here," Eames finishes his drink and pushes off where he was leaning against the bar, ready to leave unless Arthur has something else he'd like to say.
