Sometime in early June, some posters start appearing in the halls of Hillingdon house. They read CLAN MEETING at the top in big bold letters, with the date, time, and location of the meeting below. Arthur's not looking to give a lot away here, but he tells a few people about it and how important it is to attend, hoping that the word will spread through the faction.

Arthur doesn't know what to anticipate. So far it's been a lot of stand-offish hunters and shifters, and they might not be eager to participate in an initiative that unites them and begets communication. Arthur was like that too, but now there's a need to be prepared and a need to act; getting the information out there is important.

JUNE 7

People are late, of course. Arthur waits until it seems like people have stopped filtering in to start, waiting patiently at the front of one of Hillingdon House's grand ballrooms. He doesn't like being the center of attention, but he's been the lead on more than a few military briefings and debriefings in his day, so he's not totally out of his element in front of everyone there.

He starts with a small introduction, explaining that he's been with the clan for about a year and a half and before that he was in the US military. He leaves out the bit about his special-ops vampire-killing team, of course, but the fact is that he was trained to kill by the biggest military complex in the world.

He then goes on to explain why he called the meeting, telling everyone that Millicent has been murdered - just to get them all on the same page - and that she's been replaced by a far worse leader. Raymond Harris' new rules that Islington's vampires are allowed to feed on locals and that shapeshifter kills are reason enough for Hillingdon to start getting a little more pro-active, not to mention the fact that he'll allow children to be turned now. It's critical for Hillingdon to be prepared, not only for the inevitable rise in bounties, but for a more aggressive vampire population in general.

Not only that, it's critical for the faction to start sharing information between members a little more freely now. Information and skills.

He invites anyone who has more information to speak, and says that he'll offer anyone who wants them some extra training on marksmanship, shooting, hand-to-hand combat, any of the skills he has. He makes it clear that he's not looking for Hillingdon to go on a hunt - they don't need to be tracking down innocent vampires and killing them for sport - but it's time that they become a little more unified so they can use their skills to help deal with this if it gets worse.

[He does have his own place. While it's out of sight, it's not as well guarded as it probably should be. And he's not sure how well known his face is among the vampire community. Having another safe place to be would be a good thing.]

[She smiles at the very thought- she's actually going to help Sirius.

Though asking where her home is, and Annie hesitates.] It's... ah... Kensington...? [So, a great place for rich folks. Like the Crestas.]

Yeah. I mean, the last thing I need is for some vampire to realize where I live and stake it out.

[He gives a low whistle.]

That's...quite the neighbourhood. Would it be better if I posed as a loveable stray?

[The whistle is met with a wince. It wasn't her money. It was her grandmother's money. She just happened to be lucky.]

Oh- no. I don't, ah, I don't think so...? Gran's really kind She used to hunt, too. She'd want to help.

[Sirius can relate, though he chose to run away from that particular life.]

That so? If she's willing to hide me, that would really be good the more that I think about it.

[She nods]

Ahuh- I'll talk with her tonight. She'll really like you, I know. Gran's lovely. Real fierce, shorter'n me. [Annie hardly scraped 5 feet.]

Sounds intimidating.

[But he's sure they'll get along.]

It won't be for too long though, I don't want to impose. Hopefully this situation doesn't go on any longer than it needs to.

[Ideally, someone else makes a power bid and takes out the new guy or something.]

Even if it was she wouldn't mind. [Annie was sure she was lonely, though she seemed to keep herself well-entertained.]

But I hope it doesn't, either.

[Good thing his schedule is fairly open.]

Sounds lovely. Shall I meet you there?

Oh, yes, please! Uhm, is there anything particular you'd like for tea? Favorite sort, pastries?

Oh! I didn't realize that was going to be an option...um...I guess I'll take whatever's there, tea-wise anyway.

As for pastries, don't suppose eclairs are a possibility?

[She beams] Ahuh! We can get those. [Annie tries to be accommodating, often to the extremes.]

Seriously? I haven't had one of those in years. That's brilliant.

Of course I'm serious, Sirius! [Annie giggles at her own, terrible pun.] Sorry- you probably hear that. Like, a lot.

We like to do what we can for guests, Gran and I. I don't have many.

Not as much as you'd think, actually, though it is a pun that you easily walk into.

[And if he were being honest, he'd be the one making it.]

Believe me, it's appreciated. I owe you one, Annie.

Really? [Rhetorical, mostly she's just amused with this knowledge. Then again, he likely traveled in circles where people knew he was named for the star.]

Oh, no, it's okay. It's the least I can do. Really.

[She should probably expand the invitation to Daryl as well. Her Gran had thought he was an interesting character. That, and she really wanted to see them having tea together. Sirius would get along well with her as well, Annie had no doubt.]

[He nods, though there's a slightly far away expression on his face. He misses those days more than he cares to admit.]

If you say so, but I'm still going to owe you.

[She sighs heavily.]

I know you are.

So, I guess I'll see you on Tuesday then, if not before.

[I'd say he was sorry, but he's really not. One kindness deserves another.]

[With an incline of her head, she smiles, and moves to make her way out of the room. She has a phone call to make.]
