"I tried to stick to safe bets," Natasha says, taking some breakfast cereal out of the grocery bag and setting it on the counter, then a bag couple of cans of mandarin orange slices. It really is just guessing, a few things from this aisle at the store, a few from that. At least Alex won't die of malnutrition.

She takes out the game book a moment later, flipping through it. "I haven't played them much, but they seemed like more fun than crosswords. It's a number puzzle."
