[OPEN] SOUTHWARK TERRITORY CLAIM

It should never be said that Jean-Claude does anything halfway. So too might be true of the claim to try and regain Southwark for Islington.
And so he sends out a proverbial white glove to Daybreak. A formal challenge, detailing what Islington is after, how they believe they have been wronged, and how they would like to take it back. Naming a time and place where the two parties should meet (a quiet area, after the sun has set), where Jean-Claude and those who will join him for his cause shall be waiting. To fight for what is theirs.
It's all very romantic, if he says so himself. Brings him back to an era where such a thing was more commonplace. A time and place that he rather misses, all things considered.
He sends out a call to arms amongst the vampires as well. Letting them know his intentions. Letting them know that he has specified there will be no cheating in this match-up, no silver bullets, no fairy aid. No teeth. An honest match, between the vampires of Islington and the witches of Daybreak. And may the winner reap the riches. It's pretty clear what sort of a stand he's trying to make, a stark contrast to the latest brutality. He can only wait and see what sort of a statement it makes. Regardless of the outcome.
So Jean-Claude plans. And thus they assemble, at the appointed place, at the appointed time. And so do Daybreak and Islington come together in their first honorable battle in decades. As honorable as a battle gets, of course...
((ooc: come tag in and fight alongside your fellow witch/vampire, discuss amongst each other the strategy and your opinion of it before going in, OR react together to how it was handled and the fact that they lost afterwards -- have at it! c: there are not that many daybreaks involved/signed up, as a note, so please team up with each other and feel free to NPC daybreak opponents for yourselves! ))

Cooper continued to look him over. It was a mixture of bitterness and appreciation when he got right down to it. One didn't live as long as Cooper did without learning not to be picky. Playing both sides of the field came naturally to the vampire.
"I'm sure they do. Then you open up your mouth 'n they forget all about that." Forget fighting Daybreak. It had been worth the trip just so that he could needle Thomas. He could keep this going all night and likely would, up to the point where they actually had to fight anyone.

Thomas then jokingly started to slide his jacket down his shoulders, showing off his biceps.

"Put that back on, you whelp!" Cooper smacked Thomas on the back of the head. He looked quite unimpressed with the younger vampire's antics. "In case you've forgotten, you're not just representing yourself. Try t'remember you're a member of Islington now 'n act a little bit less like--" He paused, trying to think of a suitable word. "--like whatever it is you usually act like." Cooper was a right pain in the ass most of the time, but he'd never done anything to embarrass the nest.

"Right. Fine, I'll stop."
It wasn't something he'd ever worried about in Chicago, but then, things were different here than Chicago. He was still getting the feel for things here, so he might do well to wait a bit before he made enemies out of his allies. Besides, back in Chicago he mainly had to worry about embarrassing his sire, who he didn't much like, anyway.

"That's the first sensible thing you've said." Cooper nodded in approval. What do you know, it was possible for Thomas to be taught. He normally had little patience for young vampires. They were all still high on the feeling of being immortal, like nothing could ever touch them. It made for a headache. Or maybe Cooper was just getting old.
"Also keep in mind that this a civilized fight." The way he spat out the word made it clear that Cooper disapproved of Jean-Claude's old fashioned mindset. He much preferred fights when they were down and dirty. This idea of some white-gloved duel irked the vampire. Better to just go in, shoot (or bite) first, and ask questions later.

"Don't worry, I plan on following all the rules."

"I suggest you be careful. Make a wrong move and they'll hex you into next week." Being around the girls of the Circle Midnight coven had taught him that much. Witches made for some powerful friends, but they could make worse enemies. "Or y'know, something could happen in the middle of that fight t'reveal the little secret behind your hair there." Yep, he had to go there. Ignore than grin on Cooper's face. It means absolutely nothing.

"Well, I'll just have to make sure I don't let either of those things happen, then, won't I? I wouldn't want to make us look bad, after all."
Looking bad in both the literal and figurative sense if his wig was revealed.

"You are as vain as a little peacock," Cooper says, shaking his head. There's little malice behind the words. If Cooper looked the way Thomas does, he supposes he'd have reasons to be vain too.
He can only hope the vampire will put his money where his mouth is in the upcoming conflict and prove as to why he should be a member of the nest.

He didn't say anything more, though, as the time had nearly come for the fighting to begin. Once it did, Thomas would clearly put quite a bit of effort and determination into his fighting, his usual flirtatious demeanor melting away into something more aggressive, but he still restrained himself and forced himself to follow the rules. Besides, his goal was to defeat the witches, not to necessarily kill them, and for a little bit he seemed to be doing fairly well, though in the end a moment of cleverness on the part of a witch he ended up fighting would take him out of the fight.
