AVENGERS ASSEMBLE
The bloodlust was a step too far. Kyle already hated vampires before the event, his species's natural predator. Then the Fae were opening doors into their world, Daybreak was persecuting seemingly innocent members of Midnight while claiming they were practicing Necromagic, and the wolves even had their own kill-some-humans Festival. The supernatural world was a shitty, terrible place for people who were trying to live their lives in peace. And while there were Guardians meant to look out for and protect people, they followed loose laws more concerned with protecting their secrets than in saving lives.
So he started putting the word out. He didn't really know what he was doing, or what he was trying to create. Maybe a new squad. Maybe a book club where instead of weekly reading, they killed guilty parties. He wasn't sure. By definition, he was trying to put together a group of vigilantes.
He put the word out. Coded flyers here, whispers in Hillingdon there, and so on. He reached out to the people he knew and those he'd heard about who might happen to agree with his cause. Anyone and everyone was welcome, regardless of race or faction. Except the vampires he still hated.
[ooc: Kyle is trying to put together a vigilante squad. What the group does will mostly be up to the group, but may include bounty hunting, saving people in trouble, killing 'villains', and so on. Anyone is welcome to chat with him about it, regardless of their interest in joining.]

[Daryl asked after a couple of the other hunters put Kyle on his radar. Guy had apparently been hanging around the house and most of the hunters that came and went on a regular basis were getting mixed signals on the whole reason he was there. It wasn't a job, exactly, but it was a job, or some shit like that. And Daryl was just confrontational enough to finally go up to the man and have it out if it needed having out.]

I'm putting together a group who want to protect ignorant people from getting hurt by reckless assholes. [He summarized simply, spreading out his arms as if revealing something tangible.] Easy. Except it's not, because I don't know if it'll pay and most people here value money over human life.

When Daryl turned back, he crossed his arms and frowned.]
What?
no subject
You in or out? [He was happy to answer questions, but not when they had no basis on substance. Obviously the guy had heard what he'd said and nothing about it was all that confusing.]

The important part, though, was that the guy didn't seem to be joking.
After a couple more long moments of staring, Daryl shrugged.]'
Yeah, sure.
[He didn't mind the idea of protecting good people from assholes. He was one of the few hunters that almost exclusively didn't hunt so much as he took on the missing person's bounties that came through. He was pretty much watching out for the folks in the middle already.]

Kyle Sutton. [He offers, along with his hand, in introduction.] I'm hoping we can do good things.

[He replied, but didn't take the hand. Just stared at it for a moment before crossing his arms and digging his fingers into the arm holes of his vest.]
You ain't gonna do well over here, talking like that. Not 'cause it ain't a decent thing to do, but because you ain't got money to pay those'll risk their lives.
no subject
I'll find money for the people who need it. But I want the people who don't.
no subject
Whatever. You know where to find me.
[He'd agreed to give whatever this was a shot, he didn't need to stand around discussing it at length. And he'd rather not have to go into detail with the other hunters. The more it looked like he'd dismissed the guy, the easier on Daryl it would be to deflect commentary.]

[Kyle was unperturbed by the quick exit. Instead, he turned away and began busying himself with finding others to join their group. There had to be more. And, hell, if it didn't work out, at least maybe the two of them could work together on future bounties and things. It was a start.]
