"That's why I'll be here. Safely away from the burning hot things.- Ow!" He pulls his hand quickly out of the water, as if just burned, and turns the water temp down a little. It's all joking, but he hopes to do what he can to make her laugh. He turns it back up as evidence of the facade and continues washing.
