time for a check up (open post)
You may then know, more or less, the incident of her granddaughter getting kidnapped by the vampires. It distressed her but she's fine. Honest to goodness she's fine.
It's normal for her to worry for people she cares for. It's pretty normal for her to think of all the worst case scenarios some of them could find themselves in due to their personalities/their histories/their everything.
It's very normal for her to suddenly check on them one day out of the blue, just appearing next to them without a warning or a heads up.
"Are you okay?"
She's totally calmed down about the incident last month. Really.
DON'T KNOW CLARA?
What do you mean by that?
Now you do as she suddenly phases through the wall and looks directly at you during her search for everyone she knows.
It doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing. It doesn't matter if there are people there or you're supposed to be by yourself. Suddenly you have a woman staring at you in confusion for a second before it registers in her head that no. You're not someone she knows through passing.
"Um. Oops."
[ OOC: Or make your own scenario in your comment! Prose and brackets welcomed! ]
Sure!
She notices the papers and worries, for a second, she may have picked a wrong time to do this. "I-- Just wanted to say hello and see how you were doing. We've met in the past."

She's still negotiating with the rest of the staff if she can help out somehow so fingers crossed on that. Until she's sure of the arrangement, she's not going to put all her eggs in a basket. "How are you doing? It looks like you have a lot of work to do today. I can bet a dollar or two that most of them are last minute submissions. Thanks to the near end of the school year of course."

"Elsa Arendelle. Pleased to meet you officially. I've had a few last minute ones, yeah, but mostly they're just really tortuous to read."

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Elsa. I wish I knew a way of helping you out with grading the papers." She genuinely wanted to help out but her form of education is quite limited compared to Elsa's no doubt. The young lady is part of the staff here for a reason after all. "I bet you're looking forward to getting a break when this is all done! I know for a fact the students are the moment school is out."
no subject
"Oh, you're fine. I appreciate you wanting to help though. And yes, I definitely would like a break, even if it will only really be from the teaching itself. I'll still have to work on my own research and papers."

"Everyone deserves to take a break. Think you can sneak a few minutes to yourself now?" Clara whispers conspiratorially to Elsa like she doesn't want anyone else to hear her. To be fair she should hope no one hears her, encouraging something like that. She tries very hard to be act serious but she finds it very difficult to keep a straight face. "I promise to not tell anyone! I swear!"

She has a lot of questions for Clara, as she's never been this close to a ghost before, but wonders how appropriate they are. It's taken a few years but Elsa has learned that some questions, even if asked from a standpoint of trying to gain knowledge, might be considered rude.

Looking down, she's about to make a comment about the coffee when she notices a stack of papers dangerously teetering at the edge of the desk and she startles a bit as her old mothering instincts kick into gear. "Oh! Careful!"
She reaches out and, with some struggle, she pushes the stack back into the desk and away from the dangers of scattering on the floor. Her fingers phase through now and then, getting a 'bother!' from her, but it doesn't seem to be too difficult for her to do.

"So.. you can touch things. If you don't mind me saying so."
She had been under the impression that ghosts technically couldn't touch anything.

Keeping her hands to herself, because she did touch it without asking for permission and that was a poor lapse in her manners, she smiles at Elsa and nods. "I can! All ghosts can if they try hard enough. It gets easier when you train yourself."
Having been around for a better part of a decade, she didn't have much to do besides that and bothering people.
