Egg Timer (forward dated to Friday, 23rd of June) [WIP]

There was once a Countryman who possessed the most wonderful Goose you can imagine, for every day when he visited the nest, the Goose had laid a beautiful, glittering, golden egg.

The Countryman took the eggs to market and soon began to get rich. But it was not long before he grew impatient with the Goose because she gave him only a single golden egg a day. He was not getting rich fast enough.

Then one day, after he had finished counting his money, the idea came to him that he could get all the golden eggs at once by killing the Goose and cutting it open. But when the deed was done, not a single golden egg did he find, and his precious Goose was dead.

"Hey, Daryl?" Nancy looked up from her lunch (a large bowl of salad) the second she noticed her friend enter the shop. Knowing she was in good company, she waved him over to where she sat, setting her book aside.

"You got a second?" There had been a fellow in asking about him, and she wanted to pass on the message.

Often, Nancy had to wonder if she was the cleanest person in the shop. Sure, she came home smelling like oil, occasionally with grease stains on her jeans, but then she saw people like Daryl and really had to appreciate her ability to keep herself clean.

"A wolf came in asking for you," she explained. "Something about an egg?"

Nancy lets out a huff of air through her nose in a sort of laugh. "No- though I can't say, considering we've done breakfast." He'd been a really good force, the day her hearing had been written about in the paper. It's a bad line though, falling flat the second she says it. Too late to take it back now.

"They were looking for it and said that you had it. I said I had no idea what he meant, but I'd pass the message along. He said you'd know what it all meant." She shrugs.

Mogget was on his way to the Redbright Institute when he heard the scuffle break out. Normally he'd ignore it; it was hardly uncommon to witness a fight or two in London. But this one was different. A surge of magic made his fur stand on end. Mogget froze for a moment, crouching on the ground, and then slowly, carefully made his way to the source of the magic.

The cat hugged the shadows of the alleyway, pausing when he recognised a familiar figure. "Oh, dear. What's this?"
