Jean-Claude sits behind his desk at Guilty Pleasures, as he has done so many times of late, working on his account books and contemplating what step next to take. While he has won Islington the Lambeth territory, while the Nest is at its strongest that it has been in years, Samantha is on the Night Council, and the position for President is up for nomination in the next few days. Will she go for it herself? Will she nominate someone within her pocket to take it? He can't imagine she would stand back and let the work she has put forth so far go to the wayside. But what is there to be done? What can he do, from where he is now? Is there anything?
Jean-Claude finds that he's been staring at his account book but not really registering the figures and information in front of him, and he sits back in his chair, running his hand through his hair with a sigh. There was a time when his life was more simple than this. He wonders when things had become so complicated, and how, for that matter.

So it was to Jean-Claude he went. Last time he'd been here, it had been to check in on the welfare of the vampire. Well, now Cooper was going to need him to be firing at all cylinders. The vampires needed to take an active stance rather than just sitting by the wayside. He knocks on the door, but when he hears no answer, goes in anyway to find Jean-Claude staring at his account book. "Time for those dreaded words again. We need to talk."

"Come in, mon ami," he replies, and gestures to the seat across the desk from him. If they are to talk business, he supposes it is better to do so here at the desk, than sprawled across the white couch that he also has tucked away in his office. "You say they are dreaded words, but I find myself much the better for your company."

He leans forward, folding his hands on the table. "This might be the best chance we have to get someone who can do some real good into the Council."

"You sounds as though you have something in mind, mon ami," Jean-Claude replies, not wanting to be presumptuous. He needs Cooper to spell it out for him.

"You've done a good job runnin' the Nest thus far. I would've seen to it you were ousted by now if you weren't." Cooper was loyal to the concept of the Nest as a whole rather than whoever was running it at the moment. Leaders came and went, but the Nest remained as a whole.
"I think you should run for President." Jean-Claude knew exactly what he was thinking. Cooper was one of the few who could help shift this election going on way or the other. His nomination would have consequences for quite a while to come. He gives JC a steady gaze. "What do you say? Up to the task?"
