[May 20th-30th] Another Cause for Me to Fight (Richmond Territory Claim)
He'd been sucking it up for months. Holding back waiting to see if Daybreak would get off their ass and do something about the shit that had gone down in their territory since Raymond's rise (which ended promptly with his fall, a thing Daybreak had no hand in). But all they'd done in Richmond was decide to build that eye sore of an insult to all non-witches. 'Center for Magical Innovation'. Bullshit. Center for slavery of non-witches was more accurate. Starting with the fae.
When Faolan had spoken against it, Daryl had hopes that maybe what little loose leadership the clan had might be ready to get up off their ass and do something. But that didn't happen and a month passed while the Center sat there, getting used. It's visitors abusing folks in ways it was hard to get any proof of. Just rumor and small confessions of a few fae who'd been able to slip away. Some of the stray cats in the area talked about it, too. Didn't like how it 'felt'.
Another month had almost passed and Daryl was done with waiting. He'd set up small patrols with others he'd trusted among Hillingdon months ago. Stuff to help protect the residents in the ways that Daybreak had been neglecting to. It wouldn't take much to turn those patrols toward doing something more.
Richmond was basically his territory already. It was time to make it Hillingdon's too.

Re: 30 May - Shutting the joint down - before
"Yeah, no problem. It's actually been kind of fun."
Daryl might notice that aside from graffiti, it looked like a chunk of the property damage in the area had been done by rats.

So it was that while many of Roddy's friends chose not to accompany him, the cats Daryl had gathered were pointedly ignoring the lot of them. The rats were not their prey this day and would not be for many to come. At least, not at the Center.
"So I've been told," he replied with a tired smile. "Lotsa diggin' been happenin'"

And they had certainly done a fair share of that as well. His gaze swept over all the cats as he took his place with the others who were waiting to keep the witches out.
"That's quite the swarm you've got there."
Cats always made Roddy feel a little on edge, even in human form, but he was able to ignore it well enough. After all, he was used to dealing with Daryl as well as other cat shifters around the Hillingdon House. He was just glad he wasn't going to be one of the ones the cats would want to go after.

He had a little, but it was still something he was new to and he couldn't do nearly as much as spells could. Might help, though.

Where cats...well, cats just didn't do that on their own.
"Yeah, I've noticed that. With the many small targets. That's pretty much a rat's whole survival strategy."
Run away until your numbers got big enough that it was too many for whatever you were attacking to fight off.
"My plan is pretty much to just hope that they forget they have magic." Not a good plan. Fortunately, he wasn't entirely serious about that plan. "But at least the wolves I've seen, they don't seem too enthused about the side they ended up on. That might work in our favor, although I don't know about the ones I haven't seen."
no subject
He wasn't exactly keeping on topic the wolves, his mind was going all over the place. Worried now that he'd gotten to the point of no return that he'd gotten in over his head and was going to doom the lot of them to pain and agony. It wasn't going to get to the point of killing - at least not on their side - cause then they'd have to face the Night Council and the stupid as shit rule about not killing witches. But that meant the witches were free to take things too far without retaliation. And magic made that easy.
"If it gets too much, you know to run, right?"
no subject
And that was...often. Not that Roddy was ashamed of the idea of running away, mostly because everyone in his family had the same tendency, and he was well aware that a rat shifter didn't stand much of a chance in a fight against most things. He had his skills, things like sneaking and music, but a fighter he was not. Still, he'd do his best to be useful here.

"Alright, get your ass somewhere off to the side. Where you and yer friends can harry 'em. Their focus'll be on me and the doors. Plan on keeping it there until they break."

And then he proceeded to get into position, ready to act when the time was right.
