It's not the most comfortable question, but there's no way she'd be able to stay in the city without some kind of arrangement. Not comfortably, at least.

It's an intentionally vague answer, not just because she worries about casting suspicion on herself, but also because she doesn't want to imply she has more leverage that she does.
