if you hear any noise it ain't the boys [lady's night!]
A Nancy's actually just in a pair of jeans and a hoodie when she knocks on Lydia's door. She's got a bag filled with all sorts of necessities- makeup, a dress to wear out tonight, some killer heels. Oh, and of course, she's got booze. plenty of booze, because that's just what Lydia wanted. A pre-party. And even if Rhapsody in Red was pretty chill, who was she to say no to some drinks with a new friend before a night out?
"Lydia! Hey, love! How are you?" She coos, moving in for a hug when the door is answered. "I hope you don't mind, I figured I'd just get ready here. Cooper was in the shower." And as much as she loved a naked boyfriend, it was pretty distracting when you were trying to do your eyeliner and the mirror kept fogging up.
B Nancy had already sent a text to Caroline, to let her know the plan, and that she was supposed to join them after her shift for a few drinks. The message was passed along to Allison, as well. The more the merrier, Nancy figured, and all these lovely ladies should probably get to know one-another. They were young, pretty girls in a big city, and most of them were relatively new to London.
Upon arriving at the lounge, Nancy claimed them a table with a good view of the stage so they could watch Caroline, and straight-shot to the bar. Though she and Lydia had already had plenty to drink, and Nancy had her never-ending flask in her bag, she didn't know how far along anyone else would be. Plus, drinks. Just, drinks.

She took a sip of her drink and sat down in an empty chair. "My vacation was great, I loved getting a chance to see more of the country. But I'm definitely glad to be back home."
no subject
"Good- I'm really glad to hear it. I haven't been outside London, much. Glad you got to enjoy it, though." She lived in a small country, but travel was difficult, when she was younger. Now that she was older, she found she had fewer reasons to travel. Maybe sometime she and Cooper could travel to Ireland, but that was really as far as she got.

She was a bit surprised that Nancy hadn't travelled but the details of her life were often hard for Caroline to really comprehend. But now was not the time to press. "So, what did you get up to while I was gone?"
no subject
"Eh, boring stuff. Got a new job, actually. I'm working in Richmond, got a friend who works for an auto shop, got me on as an inventory specialist or something. Mostly I make sure everything is where it should be. It's under the table, but it's a better living." Maybe not monetarily, but it was better for Cooper.
Speaking of. She grins. "Oh, yeah, and my boyfriend got on the Night Council, so there's that."
no subject
"A new job is not boring. Congratulations! Inventory specialist, that sounds important." And a heck of a lot less complicated than Nancy's previous job, to say the least.
"And yes, I was around for that news. How's he been making out so far with all that?"
no subject
"Good- I always forget. He's been enjoying it, I think? It's a lot of work, lots of responsibility, but he's brilliant. I know he's the right choice, I really do." She smiles. She and Cooper didn't discuss the politics of their relationship. Not that it mattered- Cooper made the right decisions for the Nest. And Nancy wasn't a witch, not according to their new mother.

She grins and is quick to agree. "I never doubted it. I think it's probably good to have more than one person making important decisions for the rest of us - it helps keep everything in check."
no subject
Nancy nods. "I agree, and I wouldn't be surprised of JC thought the same. He's..." she shrugs, still unsure of what the hell her relationship with him was. She'd hated him so much, blamed him for turning his friend. But JC had gone above and beyond for Nancy, reaching out to her time and time again. Slowly, she was learning how similar their backgrounds were. And with that came tolerance- besides, it didn't do anyone any favors to have her being rude to the Duke of Islington. From a political stand-point, she had to tolerate him.
And to behave.
So she doesn't allow herself to finish the thought, instead, she shifts the subject: "God, I'm so proud of Cooper, though." She's practically squealing with delight.
no subject
"You should be. It's an important job, especially after everything that happened." She glanced over at the other girls, wondering exactly how much they knew about all this. Though if Nancy was talking about it within earshot, it was probably safe. Especially since they were in the middle of Nest territory and all.

She nods. "Yeah. This lovely man, Daryl, turned me on to the job. And honestly it's really nice to be able to wear trainers and jeans to work."

Actually ... "Did I ever tell you about the cursed perfume that was randomly delivered to my apartment?"

She listens, leaning forward. "Yeah? What happened?"
no subject
She shook her head, thinking back. "It was quite the night, especially before I figured out what was going on. Oh! You're going to laugh about this, but that night was actually the first time I met Cesare Borgia. Needless to say, it was quite an awkward encounter."
no subject
It was so good to laugh and talk with girl friends. To gossip about stupid things that weren't politics. Gosh, she'd missed it.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me that before at your party!"
no subject
She laughs some more. "I thought about it but I think at that point I still needed a bit more time to put it all behind me. It was pretty crazy when it first happened."
no subject
"Makes sense, if this was November, you said? Yeah, that sounds nutty- so what happened with Daryl?"
no subject
Caroline hasn't quite clued into the fact that it was the age thing that freaked him out, since as a vampire, her conception of age is a bit different than most.

Or maybe not. It had been pretty awkward.
