It's a harsh statement though, especially after she has given so much of herself for his cause this evening, so he softens it with a gentle smile and the light incline of his head towards her as well. "Yet you are here anyway, and I thank you for that. Perhaps I should even consider myself flattered...?" She hadn't had to participate, after all.
