The pieces are in motion. Jean-Claude knows that he has sat idle long enough. Evie will speak with Hillingdon if she can, to attempt to if not earn their favor then at least their pardon. And while Eames might not represent the entirety of the fae, they seem to have struck something of a deal between them as well. The last piece in the puzzle that remains is Sylvia Redbright, and the people she speaks for. Jean-Claude knows that they'll never have a chance winning her over, not while Raymond is in power. So he stops trying. Sometimes drastic times call for drastic measures.

So he sends out an alert, through the grape vine, through word of mouth, trusting only those closest to him and his cause with the news and the opportunity to spread it. They are to try again for Southwark. This time, there is to be no duel. Come what may, they will have their victory. (He needs it, if he is to win favor with Harris. Favor that he desperately needs if he wants any chance of usurping him...)

Anyone who has questions may come and direct them to Jean-Claude himself. And for the rest? Prepare for that Saturday night of the weekend to come.

Caroline is nervous about this whole business. Part of her thinks she should stay out of it but she knows getting involved in things like this is what London vampires do.

She also knows that not a whole lot is expected of her, which for the first time in her life is a relief. She is definitely one of the youngest vampires involved with everything but that means the older ones hopefully have her back.

She just needs to figure out how to best make herself useful.

Jean-Claude is pleased if a bit surprised to find Caroline there, answering his call for support. Of course, he welcomes all newcomers under his wing, especially those who would stand with him, but he had not thought that she would take quite a stance as this so soon.

"Ma chère," he says, stepping forward towards her across the floor of his club where they have been called to assemble ahead of the attack. It is not yet open for business, and there is something about being in the space with the lights on that's almost wrong, in a way. It certainly wasn't meant to be viewed like this, at least. "It is a pleasure to see you again. What brings you here?"

Caroline can't help but compare this to the first time she met Jean-Claude at Guilty Pleasures. The similarities didn't go far beyond cast and location.

"Evie invited me. She thought I might be of some use doing ... something. Whatever you need, I guess."

Jean-Claude smiles widely at her and opens his arms wide beside him in a gesture of welcome.

"Well, then I am honored to have your assistance, mon ami," he replies. Of course, he does not know how much assistance she will be, in truth. But it is always good to greaten their numbers. And Caroline herself is pleasant company, even if she can't fight.

Caroline smiles but can feel that her nerves are showing. "So, what exactly do you need? Evie wasn't exactly overflowing with details." Caroline wasn't actually sure Evie knew how to overflow with details.

Ah, so it was Evie who had turned her on to his cause. He will have to thank the other vampire later. He at least trusted Evie to be discreet in her recruits. He needs to make certain of one thing first.

"Before we continue, mon amie," he says, his face sobering for a moment, "I would have you tell me what you think of our leader, Raymond Harris. Perhaps Evie asked you such a question before she turned you here to me, but it is better to be safe than sorry in such situations, as they say."

Evie and Caroline had talked about Harris when they met, though not in such a direct way. But she has a feeling that this is the safest place for her to finally voice a complete opinion.

"I think he's a very dangerous person to have in charge. The things he'd done or encouraged others to do just put all of us at risk. Especially anyone who is less ... experienced."

Jean-Claude nods slightly in response to her words. "Raymond's rules are juvenile," he agrees. "He thinks that he is doing us all a favor by embracing our true selves, but it is part of being a vampire to learn control. How can the young ones control themselves if they have no structure to follow. If there is no compromise to have to make."

He shakes his head. "I do not mean to sound presumptive, but Raymond Harris should never have found himself in charge of the vampires of the city."

Caroline completely agrees. "I worked hard to learn control and its probably been the best thing about me the last couple of years. Losing it is ... a very bad option." To say the least.

As for Raymond being leader, well. "I didn't vote for him."

Jean-Claude lets out a peal of a laugh, shaking his head at her response. "No, mon amie," he replies himself, "unfortunately none of us did. Perhaps if our politics worked in such a way then we would not be in such a predicament."

Caroline joined in the laughter. "And this is why the Revolution happened. Or actually, I suppose I should say Revolutions in present company." She glanced over at Jean-Claude, wondering if he'd been alive around then.

Thomas, naturally, was glad to stand with Jean-Claude. He was absolutely certain that Harris's way of things would get them all exterminated, so even if his personal appreciation of Jean-Claude had not convinced him to come, then his desire for self preservation would have.

"I have to admit, I'm curious," he says, "If it's not a duel this time, what strategy did you have in mind?"

Jean-Claude flicks a smile at the other vampire. "One can only use the same strategy against an enemy so many times, unfortunately," he bemuses. "And since it did not work as well as we had hoped last time, I thought something different might be in order."

He motions to the bar, though it is not currently being tended, the club itself not yet opened for business. It seems a more intimate place to speak than standing in the middle of the floor itself. "You have not spoken to anyone else of your plans to join me here, have you mon ami?" he asks, as he folds himself onto a stool.

"Hm, that must be why I'm so bad at chess," he joked, following Jean-Claude to the bar, taking a seat next to him.

In a more serious tone, he answered the question. "I haven't, no."

There was, in fact, no one he would tell. There was no one he felt needed to know his whereabouts on a regular basis, after all. While he may get along with some members of the nest he...well, for one, didn't think they wanted to know what he got up to most nights, but also, he didn't necessarily trust them enough to let them know everything he was involved in.

Jean-Claude nods in approval of Thomas' confirmation. He needs secrecy if he wants to work this territory claim the way he had originally planned to do. Letting a member of Daybreak -- other than perhaps the one member he has spoken to already, of course -- know about his plans with enough time to warn the others and sound the alarm? Oh, that would not do at all.

"I am counting on the element of surprise," Jean-Claude explains. "I am grateful for your secrecy, mon ami. With any luck, our efforts tonight will not go unrewarded."

Thomas was glad to hear that. He smiled a little, even though telling no one really took no effort on his part, as he'd never had any intention of telling anyone.

"I'm glad to hear it. So what did you want me to do?"
