It's true of course. They could have picked another day. And just like Lancelot is considering, so too does Faolan consider the idea of what might have happened if he hadn't had a reason to go looking for him so soon after he was taken. He would be concerned once Lancelot hadn't shown up for work the next day, but it was only Sunday -- there might have been a chance he'd need to wait another day for Faolan to bven realize that something was wrong, never mind start the search.

I couldn't have done it without them." Not the tracking. He doesn't know whether he could have handled it all emotionally either, though he's not going to elaborate on that specifically.
