Her father? The fae? In truth, Norrell had not really known her real relationship with Fagin -- so he looks a little confused and surprised at her dramatics. Still, there is enough for him to get some idea. At the core of it, she has been wronged by fae! That is not a surprise. He stands awkwardly a moment, hands wringing, until Childermass speaks and he seems to jump back to life -- latching onto that.
