Cesare doesn't miss the fact that Nancy doesn't look at the cheque. She has always been discreet. That's why Cesare likes her.

He looks over her for a second, eyes tracing over her features and figure as he wonders if he should ask if she's free tonight, or if he should save that for another day. He's not above paying Nancy for her services (business is business after all), but he decides that perhaps this evening, particularly so soon after their transaction, it might be somewhat distasteful.

Instead he gives her a polite nod and gets up to leave.
