Cesare shrugs. He appreciates Thomas' opinion, but he doesn't quite share it. There are always plenty of people, he finds, who have no idea what is about to happen to them, and by the time they figure it out it is usually too late. Cesare doesn't feel the need to make things harder than they already are, not when it comes to feeding anyway. Cesare knew what he was getting into when he became a vampire. He has made peace with that.

But the comment about the new leader makes Cesare smirk as he takes a swig of his drink.

"You're not keen on sudden change, Mr Raith?" The Mr is a habit from his days of My Lord and My Lady that he isn't quite over. You can take the man from the Renaissance but you can't take the Renaissance from the man.

"Maybe from all these flames we will see new growth?"
