[OPEN] SOUTHWARK TERRITORY CLAIM

It should never be said that Jean-Claude does anything halfway. So too might be true of the claim to try and regain Southwark for Islington.
And so he sends out a proverbial white glove to Daybreak. A formal challenge, detailing what Islington is after, how they believe they have been wronged, and how they would like to take it back. Naming a time and place where the two parties should meet (a quiet area, after the sun has set), where Jean-Claude and those who will join him for his cause shall be waiting. To fight for what is theirs.
It's all very romantic, if he says so himself. Brings him back to an era where such a thing was more commonplace. A time and place that he rather misses, all things considered.
He sends out a call to arms amongst the vampires as well. Letting them know his intentions. Letting them know that he has specified there will be no cheating in this match-up, no silver bullets, no fairy aid. No teeth. An honest match, between the vampires of Islington and the witches of Daybreak. And may the winner reap the riches. It's pretty clear what sort of a stand he's trying to make, a stark contrast to the latest brutality. He can only wait and see what sort of a statement it makes. Regardless of the outcome.
So Jean-Claude plans. And thus they assemble, at the appointed place, at the appointed time. And so do Daybreak and Islington come together in their first honorable battle in decades. As honorable as a battle gets, of course...
((ooc: come tag in and fight alongside your fellow witch/vampire, discuss amongst each other the strategy and your opinion of it before going in, OR react together to how it was handled and the fact that they lost afterwards -- have at it! c: there are not that many daybreaks involved/signed up, as a note, so please team up with each other and feel free to NPC daybreak opponents for yourselves! ))

Jean-Claude smirks at the other vampire and then inclines his head at him. "Perhaps it is true," he agrees. "But even so, the company is appreciated."
He glances out across the way to the direction where the opposing faction is to gather. "There are those who would not approve of my ways. Quite a few who are in power in fact who would rather that we take the territory by storm, leaving no survivors in our wake, but I have found..." He takes a breath, glancing up to the sky as he does. "We are going to have to live with these people, come the light of day. It would not do to make further enemies than we already are."

Cooper could understand JC's positions quite well. It hadn't been so long ago that he'd been one of those bloodthirsty types himself. But after reaching about the age of two-hundred, he'd begun to mellow out, even if fighting was still his preferred method of solving situations. "You're talking to the wrong vampire about makin' enemies. I'm pretty sure I've got more of those than I do friends right now." He could either worry about being in that situation or laugh about it. No prizes for guessing which route Cooper was taking.

"Considering I have yet to try 'n deliberately get in a fight with you, rest assured, I'm doing my best t'suffer," Cooper says cheerfully. Despite his light tone, he means the words sincerely. Cooper is never the best behaved vampire in general. However, when it suits him, he can rein in his worst impulses and actually act like a decent sort of monster. It's good to know that he has an ally to go to if things start getting hairy in the nest. One never knows just when the situation might change.

"But of course. After all," Jean-Claude says, a smile spreading across his face once more. "You are here with me now, are you not. If ever I needed my proof, I should think that this would be it, n'est-ce pas?"

Cooper grins up at the older vampire. "Oui bien sûr," he replies in French. Hopefully JC will forgive him his atrocious accent. He glances over to where the rest of the vampires have gathered and the coven of witches across the way. They're all starting to get antsy. It won't be long now.
"I'll see you after this whole shindig is over." Well, actually, he wouldn't. He'll be far too upset and willing to look for someone to blame for the whole mess to seek out Jean-Claude, who he'll see as the instigator of this whole mess.

He nods at Cooper's words and offers him a bow in return to them. An honest to god bow that probably would have looked ridiculous from anyone else, but Jean-Claude had lived through a time when such things were commonplace and as such it just makes him look. Rather theatrical. "I hope you will wish me luck, then," he says, straightening and offering the other vampire another smile before he turns and makes his way towards the center of the gathering. The witches will present their champion soon. And Jean-Claude will be ready.
