Alex tries and fails to snatch the phone out of his hand before quickly backing up again, giving herself room to use the gun. She doesn't wait for a signal or permission - the words are barely out of his mouth before she fires three shots in quick succession towards his chest.

She's fast, he might just be faster. She moves as quickly as she can to brace herself in an attempt to keep her footing if he slams into her.
