Alex watches Evie closely, looking for any sign that she's lying or about to attack again. She seems to know that Alex is planning on killing Millicent, and isn't trying to kill Alex. Which is weird. Very weird.

And she's definitely implying that she also wants Millicent dead, for reasons that have nothing to do with her own personal gain.

Alex has no idea how to react to that.

"I'm not going to barge in," she says vehemently, trying to cover up the fact that her plan does involve a very small, totally reasonable amount of barging.
