"Thanks," Alex replied easily. Her smile faded slightly as she sensed that there might be something wrong. She couldn't tell, though, whether there was really something going on or if he was just generally upset about the current situation. She decided not to ask about it - if he wanted to talk about it, she trusted, he'd tell her.
