From about a block away, Alex sees Natasha disappear down an alley. She hurries to catch up, then pauses at the alley's mouth and peers slowly around the corner, not wanting to be framed in the entrance. She scowls when she realizes Natasha is nowhere to be seen, but the scent is still strong. She can probably follow it.
Carefully and quietly, she starts making her way down the alley, her eyes flicking to every nook and cranny as she passes them. Every sense is already on high alert, and it's close enough to the full moon that they're all sharper than normal. Still, she senses Natasha's presence before she sees or hears her and whirls to face her, raising the stake defensively.
