Because if that's the path she's going down, ridiculous hyperbole and comparing normal war to a war between lions and gazelles, then he's not going to bother trying to talk it out or be reasonable with her. He's seen both types up close. They're not the same.
Humans can be terrible people. Kyle will never argue that. And he won't disagree that there are the occasional outliers who might be alright. But that's not what she's saying.
