"I pointed out that most in the East End pack saw his -- and your -- removal of the Witch Representative who was in favour of those practising dark magic as encouragement that corruption isn't tolerated in the Night Council. They would, given a vote, be mostly inclined to agree that the president and vice president in place now are the appropriate choices."

She'd also engaged in several lewd favours to help convince him that the notion wasn't that awful of an idea. And she could deliver the vote of the alpha, which would carry a great deal of weight and, therefore, deliver the vote of the majority of the pack. Those who wouldn't inherently vote the way James encouraged them to would still be much more inclined to listen to her.

"Imagine how much happier they'd be -- and how much more supportive -- if those same people in those same positions gave them the ability to be heard."

She smiles a little.

"At least. That's what I told him."
