Kyle takes a moment to consider the strategy of it. It makes sense for the younger and smaller, which presumably means weaker, group to try to ally themselves with the existing powerhouse. Unfortunately, those types of things rarely worked, usually leading to one absorbing the other or forcing them out. It was only a matter of time until a turf war broke out, assuming one wasn't already in progress.
