Rationally, she knows he means well, but Alice is still feeling a little out of it from one of her medications earlier this year, she's not sure which one. She answers his offer by pulling her rabbit closer. Childish aversion isn't really much of an answer, yet it does well for those slight seconds just his presence almost knocked her little, lithe self over.
