"Ah, yes. My mother was over ten-thousand years old already, when I was born...but you humans only have a couple decades to get that particular business done," he said, with understanding but not much in the way of actual sympathy. He didn't really want any children, although he may have a few of them out there.

"There are more reliable ways to find love, you know," he said, "It is a wish, like any other."

But his wishes always came at a price.
