Ghoul isn't usually one for blind panic, but taking a sharp turn and unexpectedly finding a crying, bleeding kid on the ground sure does make something in his stomach drop. Despite the blood, it's easy to see how small he is- he can't be that much younger than Girl, even. It's hard not to see her in his place. He doesn't recognize him, though, so he's probably not one of their own... Most likely a human child who's accidentally stumbled over a shitshow, or one who's been intentionally flushed out in all the chaos and attacked, which is pretty fucked up to think about. Who goes after a fucking child?

If he weren't feeling overwhelmingly furious and protective all of a sudden, he might wonder why the kid smells like wolf blood.

But that doesn't even register in his mind. Ghoul swoops in, kneeling next to Joscelin and reaching out towards him. The sobbing-pitifully act is evidently very convincing. "Hey, c'mere, it's fine. We're gonna get outta here, okay? Can you get up?"
